How far is Zion National Park from Las Vegas? It’s forty-six miles west of Las Vegas, on the east side of the Grand Canyon. When I say “east side,” I’m referring to the south side of the Grand Canyon, which is where you’ll find this park. You can’t see the east side when you head up north from Vegas. You can’t see it at all when you go down south of Vegas.
Zions National Park is absolutely amazing. The scenery is awesome and the animals are just awe-inspiring. It’s not that far, even if you drive through some woods and into a valley. But it’s still pretty far for the vacationer. You have to be right about fourteen miles from the parking area to get into the park and back.
Most visitors get to the park by taking one of several highways south out of Las Vegas. But they can also drive east from Vegas along I-15. This highway goes through some really beautiful places. Of course, it also goes through some really terrible places. I don’t recommend driving through Bright, CA, or Placerville, NV.

Keep heading north until you reach Bountiful Gardens. Here you’ll find a giant cottonwood tree that was destroyed by an unknown flood some seventy years ago. Other plants and trees can be found here. The park is open to visitors all year.
The last part of the trip takes you under a massive rock formation. It’s called Arches National Monument. It’s almost fifty miles long. You can drive a truck through it. The only way to get to the top is to hike it.
